Wow it's almost June already, what the heck happened!
Since around October last year time has flown right past me. I'm still trying to catch myself up.
Going to put in a real effort to keep this blog updated from now on, or before too long I'll have gotten so behind ...I'll be meeting myself coming back!
Anyways, enough if my confuzzlement.
On to the subject of todays ramble..
Since April I haven't used shampoo once on my long hair...eeeww dirty cow eh!?
Not as skanky as it might sound though, ever heard of Co washing?
Cowashing is pretty popular these days, mostly due to internet forums and such. The basic principal of Cowash is to wash your hair with conditioner instead of shampoo. For many of us shampoo causes more problems than it solves. For me it dried out my hair, to the point where all conditioning was pretty futile. I knew I was hating every shampoo I tried, I knew my hair was feeling way too crunchy for comfort, but I still kept buying and trying more bottles of hope.
Until I discovered Cowashing that is!
What I've been doing is this:
I rinse my hair with water at my sink, totally saturate it, then grab a mighty handful of conditioner and gently massage it in to my scalp and full length of hair. The massage is key here, conditioners contain cleansing agents similar to shampoos, but on a much milder scale. So working with your fingers and the conditioner to gently loosen any dirt or oil, has the same effect as shampoo only on a much less stripping scale.
Some people like to do this twice - saturate + condition + massage, then rinse, and repeat.
Oh and once I've done the whole massage thing I leave the conditioner on my hair for at least 15 minutes, sometimes way longer, for max impact :D
You really must rinse well after doing this...otherwise you can be left with build up from the silicones in your conditioner (if it has any, not all do) So when you think you've done rinsing...go back and rinse some more :) hehe.
I find just once works great for my long, fine hair, and once I've rinsed it out it feels amazing! I'm telling you my hair has never felt so soft.
Doing the above coupled with regular coconut oil soaks (especially before colouring) my hair is now back to its old happy self and shining away for all its worth.
There are many variations on the co wash theme, just google it and see if you're interested. Especially if you have long hair, or problems with dryness.
Hugs all, peace out xxxxxxxxxx

:)
Smiling is infectious,
When someone smiled at me today,
I passed around the corner
When he smiled I realized
I thought about that smile
A single smile, just like mine
So, if you feel a smile begin,
Let's start an epidemic quick,
Everyone needs a smile!

Face plant!
Well today was sure fun!
After a long and very stressful afternoon I finally got to come home, and stepped outside into a cold, windy and wet rain storm. I got soaked, my brolly spent most of its time inside out and to top it all off I tripped over my sons shoes within a minute of getting home, landing flat on my face! Lovely! Headache, anyone!?
Oh well it happens I guess. But I did manage to pick up a few treats from myself before it all went pear shaped. Will probably add some pictures tomorrow. Got a couple of cheapo eye shadow palettes from Superdrug and Savers, change from a fiver for both.
I also bought a couple of Q-10 skincare products from Asdas after seeing my friend Sam recommend them on her youtube channel (samward1974)
I already tried the eye cream - with pleasing results, so I'm looking forward to trying out the others, thanks Sam! :)
I think I'll probably add some reviews once I've used them for a while.
Peace out xx
